The Congress appears to be confident of a win in Karnataka. The party has been relying heavily on the pattern in which Karnataka votes, where the people have not elected the same party back into power.
While scales seem to be tilted in favour of the party as of now, the one issue plaguing it is the one-upmanship by two of its leader, D K Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah.

“The high command will not decide on who becomes the next chief minister. It would be the MLAs,” Siddaramaiah had said.
He however later added that both him as well Shivakumar are both CM aspirants.
