Indian Mujahideen, SIMI, now PFI: Why is Bihar a happy-grouping ground for terrorists


There has been a population explosion in Samastipur and Darbhanga. While the census tells one story, the real picture would be known only when one takes into account the huge number of illegal immigrants in the country.

New Delhi, Feb 08: The banned Popular Front of India’s (PFI) modus operandi looks very similar to that of the Indian Mujahideen.

A quick re-cap: The Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). Some of its leaders along with the cadres of the PFI met at at the Wagamon camp in Kerala, following which the Indian Mujahideen was born. Its leader Yasin Bhatkal marred one Zahida Irshad Khan from Bihar. He had told her that he was working as an Imam. He then entered Bihar and lived in the guise of a unani doctor during which time, he built the infamous Darbhanga module of the Indian Mujahideen which was responsible for scores of attacks.
